Mission Statement and Ethos

Mission Statement and Ethos

Our school associates itself with two phrases; One is the the Irish seanfhocail 'Ar scáth le chéile a mhaireann na daoine', which can be interpreted as, 'We depend on each other'. The second is the Latin phrase associated with St. Patrick, 'Quis separabit?', meaning 'Who will seperate us?'. In this light, our school aims to ensure students see the value of respect and working together. Our vision of our school is of a safe and happy place, where each child is nurtured and valued, and enjoys the process of learning. We aim:

  • To educate each child to develop their potential in a caring environment.
  • To help each child to recognise that he/she is a unique individual, and to have a positive attitude towards oneself and others.
  • To develop the child as a spiritual person, recognising his/her great potential for good.
  • To enable the child to develop socially through living and co-operating with others, by appreciating similarities and differences, and so contributing to the good of society
  • To instill in each child a love of learning and prepare them for life long learning.
