We hold two weekly assemblies in our school hall – a junior assembly for third and fourth classes, and a senior assembly for fifth and sixth classes. At these assemblies, news and important information is shared with the pupils by Mr. McGinty and pupils are praised for their behaviour and kindness shown throughout the week.
Each class has a turn at hosting an assembly during the year. Pupils from the class act as presenters, news readers and performers. We have lots of talented children in our school and it is wonderful for them to have an opportunity to share these talents. We see all kinds of performances, from guitar, piano and singing to drama, gymnastics and martial arts. We look forward to assembly every week.
At least once a term, we have a 'Whole School Assembly' in Skerries Community Centre. These are generally based around different themes during the years e.g. Halloween, Christmas, tSeachtain na Gaeilge, Graduation, etc. These large assemblies are a great chance for the whole school together and watch different performances,or practice something collectively which classes have been working on seperately.
